Tara and Blake
Welcome to Tara and Blake: our friends, our travels, our world.  We recently renovated our site to make a more friendly one for your visit.  We have updated our journals, slideshows, and sporting events for our family and friends.  We have included more information on Tara's Boston Marathon training and Blake's Baseball breakdowns and more about our journals along the way.

We are celebrating our 13th year together this Valentine's Day, as we also are sharing our 11th year as husband and wife.  More to come on those milestones as well as we continue this year.  In the meantime, stay connected by viewing our Journals, Galleries and see us on Picasa as well.

11 Years?
It seems like it was just yesterday when Tara and I said our, “I do’s”, but it was September 23, 1999! Where has the time gone?! As we approach another anniversary, we look back with joy and a sense of accomplishment. These 11 years have been filled with so many wonderful and cherished memories. From our Wedding and Honeymoon to our 2 week vacation we took last year, and our trips across the country and south through the Caribbean, we have lived our lives and enjoyed the journey.

This year we find ourselves even more thankful for our friends, family and for one another.

Our Journals
Everything is going to be alright!
After experiencing a few set-backs with her running this year, we were notified on Thursday, July 15, that Tara is cancer free... The scare came after running Disney and experiencing a hip-flexor strain. The rehab went well, but there was a lingering pain. After visiting a few of our favorite practitioners, we were told that there was a cyst and it could be cancer. After a few weeks of stressing, we were given a clean bill of health, as the cyst ruptured and things are looking perfect.

We are now focusing on a few races this fall as we both begin our regiments to reach our personal records this year.
... don't worry, about a thing... 'Cause every little thing.... is gonna be alright...

Peachtree and Sizzler and Marathons... Oh My!
We have now passed the halfway point to the year with very few races... What gives, you ask? Yes, it is true that we have not been able to run as many races this year. Tara was injured in January and has been in recovery until a few weeks ago. How she was able to run the Peachtree as fast as she did the year before blows our mind. Running Disney was a great race though it did cause a major set-back. With anything in life, if it all came easy then it is usually not enjoyed as much. Disney was a great race, but the temps combined with a lack of warming up combined with an unknown medical issue gave us the Perfect Storm of events which required this legnthy rehab.

Birthday Vacations are always a Swell Time!
It seems that each year we decide to take a trip for the Memorial Day weekend, we find ourselves in Florida for some sun and relaxation.  This year, unlike last, we were able to relax and truly enjoy our vacation.  Finding our way to Disney, we enjoyed our time at the water parks and all of the theme parks as well.

The best part though, was doing something for the first time.  Yes, we are still finding things to do for the first time while visiting the Walt Disney World Resort.  This time we decided to go to one of the dinner shows, the Hoop-De-Do Review at the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.  If you have never found your way to this show, you have missed out on one of Disney's longest running shows.  Not only was the food awesome, the show provided a lot of laughs for the entire family.
